Full iFamCare Helmet Review
iFamCare recently entered the home security and pet camera market and with their latest IndieGoGo funded product. Conveniently named Helmet, this security and pet monitoring camera rocks impressive video quality and unique features – most notably the laser pointer and air quality sensor. Let’s get right into it.
Design
How awesome is this camera? It looks like something out of a sci-fi film. The “helmet” section of the camera can pan a full 360 degrees thanks to the firm, flat camera base. The camera and led light are located in the front directly on the “mask” of the helmet. Directly above is a 0.4 mW laser pointer which can be used from your phone to play with your cats. Two way audio speakers are located on the sides and can be used to communicate to your pets or family while you’re out of the house. The camera also comes in white or black.
Features
Not only does this home security camera have great video and sound quality, but it has a built in laser pointer so you can interact with your pets while away from the house. If that isn’t enough, iFamCare Helmet is the only interactive pet camera with expandable memory.
Video & Sound Quality
The Helmet camera sports a 1080P HD (1920×1080) front facing camera with night vision. Even better, this camera can rotate a full 360 degrees to see your entire room. We were very impressed with the quality and it certainly matches other cameras currently on the market. The two-way audio lets you check in on your house and communicate with guests or pets. Overall, the sound quality seemed great. Helmet is equipped with impressive sound and motion alerts as well to notify you if someone enters the house or a specific room.
Laser Pointer Interactive Game
Similar to the Petcube pet camera, Helmet has a built in laser toy so you can play with your pets from anywhere in the world.
Air Quality Sensor
This is certainly what brings the Helmet camera to the top of our list. Not only does Helmet serve as an impressive pet camera, but it also serves as an all-in-one home security camera that can detect up to 20 chemicals including Carbon Monoxide.
Installation and Setup
Installing your Helmet Camera is incredibly simple. We used the quick start guide provided in the package which was straight forward and simple. Check out the video below or their resources page for more help including the user manual. iFamCare also has a great support team available to answer questions.
